Full Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
-
Move, load, and unload plants and products from trucks using a forklift or by hand.

Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures the job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.

Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.

Drives company truck and informs manager of maintenance issues.
-
Ensures vehicle has fuel at all times.
-
Prior to leaving the Garden Center for the job site, the associate doing the planting must call the customer to let them know they are on their way.

Upon arrival at the job site, the associate must let the customer know they have arrived.

Personal radios and music players of any sort are not allowed on landscape jobs.

Please refer to the Company dress code for appearance standards. In addition, shirts must be worn on job sites at all times.

At the end of each workday, the job site should be cleaned up and left.

free of cigarette butts, food containers, and other debris.

Associates are required to have drinking water with them at job sites at all times.

Prior to leaving the job site, ensure the job is complete and check in with the customer prior to leaving the job site.

Maintain a polite, friendly, and responsive demeanor with customers

Knowledge of proper planting/transplanting, soil health, insect/disease diagnosis and treatment, etc.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:

A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.

Ability to communicate with customers, other peers, and management.
-
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and to multi-task.

Ability to receive and address complaints and problems from customers as they arise.
-
Basic plant knowledge or the willingness to learn about plants and gardening.
-
Team-oriented and able to work under the direction of the Manager and/or Leads.
-
The ability to work outside in various weather elements.
-
Strong time management skills.

Knowledge of basic math skills.

Reliable transportation.
-
Nursery experience is not required, but extremely helpful.
Physical requirements of the job:
-
Must be able to lift 75-100 lbs.
-
Use shovels, loppers, Jack Hammer, sledge hammer, hand pruners, etc.
-
The job is physically demanding and requires a lot of problem-solving, time management skills, and a commitment to learn.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
