About the event
Join us for an educational session led by Elizabeth “Wizzie” Brown, BCE—Senior Extension Program Specialist in Entomology with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension.
Wizzie specializes in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and brings decades of experience helping home gardeners and professionals manage insect pests using environmentally responsible practices. Her science-based, practical approach makes her a trusted resource across Central Texas. In this session, she’ll share expert tips on identifying and managing the most common vegetable pests affecting local gardens—including caterpillars, aphids, beetles, and more. Learn how to protect your crops using IPM principles that emphasize prevention, proper identification, and low-impact control methods.
Wizzie Brown received her Bachelor’s of Science in entomology from The Ohio State University and a Master’s of Science in entomology from Texas A&M University. After leaving Texas A&M, Wizzie worked in structural pest control before taking a job with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Austin.
