Full Job Description

The Sales Associate provides customer service, product knowledge and sales support for all customers. This individual strives to achieve Round Rock Center goals and objectives in service, sales, and productivity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Greets and receives customers in a welcoming manner.

• Ensures each customer receives outstanding customer service.

• Drives sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, responding to questions and sharing product knowledge.

• Helps locate plants/products for customers.

• Escorts customers to tables, beds, counters and other displays.

• Alerts management of potential security issues.

• Assists with inventory, including receiving and stocking merchandise.

• Ensures displays are clean, organized and appealing.

• Occasional cashier duties, including documenting sales by creating or updating customer profile records.

• Accurately and efficiently completes sales transactions and maintains proper accountability on register.

• Keeps customers informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise of potential interest.

• Moving, loading, and unloading plants

• Watering plants as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager/lead.

• Regular and reliable attendance; arriving as scheduled and ready for the day at work

• At least 1 weekend day shift (Saturday or Sunday) is required per week from February to May.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate with customers, other peers, and management.

• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and to multi-task.

• Ability to receive and address complaints and problems as they arise from customers.

• Basic plant knowledge or the willingness to learn about plants and gardening.

• Team oriented and able to work under the direction of the Manager and/or Leads.

• The ability to work outside in various weather elements.

• Follow all applicable safety rules and procedures.

• Nursery experience not required but extremely helpful.

• Reliable transportation

• The ability to walk/stand on your feet for up to 10 hours per day.

• The ability to lift up to 50lbs.

• The ability to lift 20lbs repeatedly for at least 4 hours.

• Kneeling, crouching, and squatting.

• Pushing or pulling objects.

• Bending/stooping.

Education:

High school Diploma or equivalent
